EARLY CHILDHOOD PHILOSOPHY

We believe our unique facility, combining age appropriate supplies, materials, toys, and equipment, provides a safe, challenging, and fun world for your child.  We encourage your child to master new social and intellectual skills through play and center-based activities.  Club 4 Kids is a great place for child development!  In fact, it has been affirmed that children learn most readily through a play-oriented atmosphere like Club 4 Kids.

Children have the freedom to play with anyone they wish, choose any toy they like, experiment with paints, playdough, and crafts, all under the guidance and support of teachers who are fun, patient, and caring.  Our dedicated staff and child-oriented atmosphere are what make Club 4 Kids so popular with children and parents alike.

We maintain a philosophy that each child is viewed as a guest while at our center, and we treat each child as someone special whom we have the privilege to meet.  Our learning centers allow children to explore, to experience, and to succeed.

PARENT/STAFF COMMUNICATION

We appreciate and understand that you, as parents, are the most important person in your child’s life.  We encourage communication between parents and center staff.  We want to make your child’s stay at Club 4 Kids a positive experience.  Please let us know of any special requests you may have for your child.

COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES REGULATIONS

Club 4 Kids is fully licensed by the State of Colorado.  According to the Department of Human Services, a child may not stay longer than 4 hours during the day and 6 hours after 4pm.  We are licensed to serve a maximum of 40 children per hour, so we strongly encourage that reservations be made.  Each child must be registered with Club 4 Kids in accordance with CDHS standards.  CDHS standards state that we must have a current immunization record on file for your child.  Also required is a dated statement of the child’s health status signed by an approved health professional who has seen the child within the last 12 months.
  • We maintain a 8 to 1 child to teacher ratio at the Littleton Center. At the Piney Creek Center, we maintain a 5/7 to 1 ratio in the toddler room and a 10 to 1 ratio in the big play room.
  • We are required by law to report any suspected child abuse.
  • A "How to Report Child Abuse" form is available for all parents, as required by Colorado law.
  • Over-the-counter ointments for diaper rash may be administered to children with written parental authorization. These preparations may not be applied to broken skin unless there is a written order by your prescribing practitioner.
  • Anyone suspected of being intoxicated while picking up a child will be asked to provide another driver prior to the release of the child
  • Prescription medications can be administered only with the written order of a person with prescriptive authority and with written parental consent. It will be kept in a lock box at the front desk. A medication log will be kept daily.

DROP OFF/PICK UP POLICY

Parents must sign their children in on our daily sign-in sheet upon arrival.  An emergency number and other special instructions must be written in at that time.  If anyone other than the parent who brought the child in will be picking the child up, we must be notified at that time. That designated person must know your "code word" and identification will be asked for in order to release the child.
A “code word” must be used in order for us to release the child.

MEAL/SNACK PROGRAM

Though we are not licensed for food preparation, we can provide your child with a wholesome and nutritious catered meal from nearby restaurants for a nominal fee.  These meals are approved by a licensed dietician, and fulfill one third of the recommended daily nutritional requirements for young children.  You will be informed of the restaurant selected for the day at the time of registration, and may select a variety of approved meals.  You may pack your child a snack or lunch from home, but they must be clearly labeled with your child’s name. Packed meals and snacks must be ready-to-eat.

Catered Meals: (reservations must be made one hour prior to meal time):
  • served daily at 12:00pm and 6:00pm (6:30pm dinner on Fri and Sat at Littleton center)
  • $3.50 per child
  • purchase a 10 meal card for the price of 9 meals ($27.00 at Piney Creek, $31.50 at Littleton) and recieve the tenth meal free.

       Catered Snacks:
  • juice and snack may be purchased for $1.50 at Piney Creek or $2.00 at Littleton, or brought from home.
  • juice or snack may be purchased individually for 75 cents each at Piney Creek or $1.00 at Littleton.
  • purchase a 9 snack card for $13.50 at Piney Creek or $18.00 at Littleton and recieve the tenth snack free.
  • Purchased Juice & Snack are all-you-can-eat

Our set snack/meal times are the only times children will be served food, except for children under 30 months. We will observe their own schedule for snacks.

DISCIPLINE POLICY

Our discipline methods consist totally of redirecting, distraction, verbal problem solving, and as a last resort, time-out.  Though we try our hardest to help each child fit into the group-play atmosphere at Club 4 Kids, some children are just not ready or able to adjust.  In these instances, we may encourage parents to wait a few months, and then try again.  If we experience repeated difficulties with any child, we reserve the right to refuse admittance to Club 4 Kids for that child.

TOYS FROM HOME

Do not allow your child to bring toys from home, as it always causes a problem.  If your child brings a toy, he will be asked to keep it in his cubby. We are not responsible for lost toys brought from home.

SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN

We ask that parents inform staff members of any and all special needs, and help to create a developmental plan which is safe and healthy for the child as well as the other children within the center.  If your child has special needs, a parent conference/observation must be set up before your child attends the center.  If one on one care is determined necessary for your child, an increased hourly rate must be paid.

EMERGENCY/DISASTER POLICY

Our facility is designed with safety in mind.  It is protected by an interconnected fire alarm system, security cameras which run continually, as well as a front doorbell to alert us of all visitors to the center.
In the unlikely event of any the following, our policy is as follows:

Fire - the staff will evacuate the building.  Attendance will be taken and children will all hold onto our fire rope as we lead them safely out of the building.
Tornado - the staff will calmly lead the children to the back of the center where they will be most protected from broken glass, etc.
Blizzard - upon the conditions worsening, parents will be called to pick up their children.  News reports will be monitored closely by the on-site director.  The center will close early so that staff may safely make their way home.
Abandoned Child - if a child is left in our care for more than one hour past closing time, and we are unable to reach any of the emergency contacts which the parent has provided, the local police will be notified.
Lost Child - children are counted constantly at our center.  The director closely monitors the front check-in area to account for all children arriving or leaving.  In the event of a lost child, the police will be called and parents will be immediately notified.
Accident - in the event of an injury to a child, the center is equipped with a fully-stocked first aid kit, and our staff has CPR and first-aid training.  Accident reports are written up for all minor accidents that leave a mark on the child.  These reports are kept in your child’s file.  If further action is required, we will call 911 for emergency medical assistance.  You will be contacted immediately by telephone in the event of a serious injury.
